The South Hams has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The rolling hills, wooded valleys. picturesque villages and glorious coastline makes it a popular area for tourist to visit as there is always plenty to see and do all year round.
A bit about the farm...
The farm is recorded in the Domesday book and has been a working farm for over a thousand years. Today we farm beef cattle, sheep and grow crops.
The farmhouse itself dates back to the early 13th century. Original features can still be seen, such as the wood panelling that is fitted floor to ceiling in the dining room, which dates back to c1630. The views from the accommodation look out over a patio, which is for your exclusive use, as well as the courtyard at the front of the farm, then up over the trees and fields of the farm.
The farmhouse is in an ideal location for exploring the South Hams, it is within easy driving distance of Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth. A few minutes walk down the lane brings you to Frogmore creek and village, where small boats can be launched from the slipway. The estuary provides sheltered boating for smaller craft, and is ideal for sailing. The village also has an excellent Post Office, village shop & bakery producing their own fresh baked bread daily. The village also has a “local pub” with fine ales and good food.
